Camp Description: YMCA Camp Classen is located midway between Oklahoma City and Dallas on 2,140 acres in the Arbuckle mountains with waterfalls, lakes, open meadows, and miles of hiking and horseback trails. Through our traditional summer resident camp program, our Outdoor Education program, two weekend family camps and many weekend Adventure Guide groups we will serve over 8,000 individuals this year.

Job Description and Required Certifications: POSITION OVERVIEW The Food Services Director provides for the organization and delivery of high quality food service for all meals served at YMCA CAMP CLASSEN and is responsible for the operational supervision of kitchen staff, department budget, and progressive development of the food services department. The Food Services Director works independently under general direction of the Executive Director. Note: Onsite housing and utilities are provided. Anticipated start date of March 1, 2014 or sooner if circumstances allow. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate prior experience in and/or ability to plan, prioritize and deliver institutional food service. The successful candidate must be able to show previous experience in and/or demonstrate ability to manage and motivate employees under their supervision toward a high level of care for food quality, food appearance and customer service. He or she must also be able to successfully relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. The position requires a college degree or relevant educational training and supervisory experience in the delivery of institutional food service for large groups. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES Work collaboratively with all camp staff and Association level staff to carry out the mission of the YMCA through food services programs. Incorporate through their leadership the YMCA four core values and character development model: Honesty, Caring, Respect, Responsibility Assure the organization, delivery and quality of the YMCA CAMP CLASSEN food services department. Hire, train, organize and develops food services staff. Plan a budget appropriate menu and order food product. Plan and implement menu under the MY Plate standards which supports the Associations guidelines for health and wellness. (www.choosemyplate.gov) Assures the proper preparation and service of attractive meals for all guests and staff within budget, at the right temperature and on time. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the food services department with regard to food quality, temperature, timeliness and service standards. Assures that the food service department performs all of its duties within the context of cheerful customer service and in a guest centric manor. Attend weekly staff meetings. Assure all food preparation, storage, handling and holding procedures are done within all local and state codes. Works creatively when needed to accommodate unique food service needs of the camp program and or our guests. Responsible for the proper use and stewardship of camps natural resources, facilities and equipment. Assures the cleanliness and organization of the dining room and related department resources such as buffet tables, seating etc Attends all trainings as required for maintaining position Represents the YMCA and YMCA CAMP CLASSEN at all times with professionalism both at work and in public.
