Camp Description: The New York YMCA Camp serves a diverse group of children composed mostly of New York City children in a globally diverse community built upon the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our goal is for each child to enjoy safe adventures, make new friends and have joyful experiences every day. The New York YMCA Camp is located on 1,100 forested acres 86 miles northeast of New York City where New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania share a border.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The YMCA of Greater New York is the largest youth-service organization in NYC. The organization has grown to encompass 21 branches and more than 140 sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City in addition to three camp sites and an upstate conference center. The New York YMCA Camp located in upstate New York, is seeking a self motivated and organized individual who will be responsible for administrative and general office duties. The New York YMCA Camp is a globally diverse community built upon the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, where each child enjoys safe adventures, new friendships and joyful experiences. Responsibilities: • Answer telephones promptly and courteously; take messages and distribute them to appropriate individuals. • Perform general clerical duties including, but not limited to, photocopying, faxing, internal and external mail and telecommunications. • Maintain a clean environment. • Sort and distribute mail daily. • Process camper reports daily and report back to main office on a timely basis. • Receipt laundry monies. • Supervise campers as needed. • Manage arrival and departure day procedures. • Any other duties as assigned, including setting up campgrounds, cabins and program areas. Qualifications: • High School diploma; college degree preferred. • Experience working in an office. • Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel. • Residential experience is a plus. • Strong verbal and written communications skills. • On-site residence required.

Salary Information: $180.00 P/W

Room and Board Provided: Yes
