Camp Description: Camp Kon-O-Kwee was founded in 1926 as a YMCA summer camp for children. It encompassed 265 acres of fields, forests and countryside along the Connoquenessing Creek, five miles west of Zelienople, PA and forty miles north of Pittsburgh. Today Camp Kon-O-Kwee/Spencer encompasses 500 acres with 45 seasonal cabins and 27 lodges, totaling over 400 winter beds and another 400 summer beds.

Job Description and Required Certifications: SUMMARY DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Director of Camping Services of YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer, the Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily management and leadership of non-summer programming, including but not limited to 30+ school groups, parent/child including Y Guides and Princesses, and teambuilding programs. The Program Director will also assist in the leadership of the Kon-O-Kwee summer camp program. The Program Director will be accountable for program development, administration, promotion, implementation, and evaluation. Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and three or more years of professional camp experience or equivalent. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in the areas of safety, organization and planning, program delivery and innovation, communications and fiscal management. This position requires excellent relationship building skills for work with user groups, partners, staff, and volunteers; excellent organization and leadership skills; planning skills and experience; and problem-solving skills. The candidate must think strategically, be detail oriented, customer-focused, and be able to lead change. S/he must be effective with diverse populations, be results-driven, strike an effective balance between patience & determination, and be able to collaborate effectively. Position requires strong decision making, problem solving, organization and supervision skills along with excellent computer skills and the ability to manage information systems. Position requires valid Drivers License and current CPR, First Aid or ability to obtain within six months of hire. WORK HOURS: Flexible work hours require (including evening and weekends)
Salary Information: $22,000 to $28,000 (DOE), plus modest room and board provided. 9% paid retirement upon eligibility and benefits.
