Camp Name: Camp Fitch YMCA

Camp Location: North Springfield, PA

Camp Description: : Located in the far northwest corner of Pennsylvania, near Erie, Cleveland, Youngstown, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo, Camp Fitch boasts one mile of Lake Erie shoreline and 450 acres of forests, streams and pastures. Camper capacity in the summer is 385 and 300 in the fall/winter/spring. Annual operating budget is 2.3 million. Major program offerings in the summer include three distinct waterfronts, shooting sports, equestrian, crafts, nature and field sports. Camp Fitch serves 70 schools with outdoor education, numerous weekend retreats and parent child programs as well as programs for adults and children with special needs. Special program development in the next several years is in the area of equestrian programs. Camp Fitch has an outstanding staff team with 10 full time and 15 part time year round staff. In the summer, our staff grows to over 100.

Job Description and Required Certifications: Tremendous opportunity to lead a well-established and robust year round resident camp program through the demonstration of Christian values and commitment to the YMCA mission. We are successful with room to grow and opportunity to deepen our impact in the lives of youth and families. This position oversees program implementation, marketing, some aspects of operations and annual support; participates in volunteer and staff development, community relations and collaborations; supervises 4 – 5 program leadership positions. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Establishes with the branch leadership team long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with the overall objectives of the YMCA of Greater Youngstown. 2. Oversees the quality controls of all Camp Fitch programs, including summer camp, outdoor education, weekend groups and special populations. 3. Recruits, hires, trains, develops and directs employees and volunteers as assigned. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 4. Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local communities of Camp Fitch and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and government entities. 5. Develops, manages and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations. 6. Develops, directs, and implements the marketing plan and evaluates its effectiveness in recruiting and retaining campers. 7. Oversees the food service manager and directs changes and adjustments as needed to ensure quality and price controls. 8. Oversees the equestrian staff and implements new programs and policies to expand and improve upon this program. YMCA COMPETENCIES (MULTI TEAM OR BRANCH LEADER): 1. Salary Information: Range is: $44,000 - $47,000 Additional compensation includes family health insurance, 12% retirement, on site housing for a modest size family.
