Camp Description: Since 1921, Camp Duncan has provided safe, quality camping programs for boys and girls ages seven to 15 and Teen Adventure Camps for 15 to 17 year olds. All activities are geared to the developmental level of the campers. Camp Duncan is a co-ed, summer resident camp located near Fox Lake, Illinois, on 278 acres.

Job Description and Required Certifications: JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, the Aquatics Coordinators (pool and waterfront directors) are responsible to coordinate and supervise the day-to-day operation of the resident camp aquatic programs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide day-to-day coordination of the resident camp aquatic programs - training, and evaluating the lifeguard staff as well as schedule lifeguards and instructors to ensure complete coverage for aquatics programs; maintain aquatic equipment and areas with a high attention to cleanliness and safety; assist with program promotions while following all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, provide ongoing in-service training and safety checks with the aquatic staff to assure the safest environment possible; attend staff meetings and trainings as required; other duties as assigned SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: •Provide day-to-day coordination of the resident camp aquatic programs - training, and evaluating the lifeguard staff as well as schedule lifeguards and instructors to ensure complete coverage for aquatics programs •Maintain aquatic equipment and areas with a high attention to cleanliness and safety •Assist with program promotions while following all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, provide ongoing in-service training and safety checks with the aquatic staff to assure the safest environment possible; attend staff meetings and trainings as required •Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 21 years old, must be mentally alert to dangerous situations in order to assure the safety of all swimmers; physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid effectively; physical mobility to properly use aquatic equipment to rescue a 200lb. person; physically able to see, hear, and communicate clearly; able to read, write, individual must possess strong organizational, communication skills; hae current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification, proficient in swimming and safety skills, First Aid and CPR We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
