Job Description and Required Certifications: The NY YMCA Camp is seeking an experienced individual who will be responsible for planning and facilitating age appropriate arts and crafts activities for groups of campers that will encourage, excite and expand the campers skill. The Coordinator will able be responsible for instruction of the Arts program during the weekly schedule. Room and board provided. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the health, safety and well-being of campers, by providing close supervision of all program activities. Provide campers an enjoyable and beneficial experience. Oversee arts programs including but not limited to camp crafts, drawing, painting, dance, theatre, etc.; provide instructional skills to summer staff members. Maintain a creative and fun environment for campers and staff. Maintain cleanliness and efficiency of program area, including inventory of supplies. Provide activity leadership within assigned program areas in a manner which promotes safety, fun and education. Communicate any concerns or problems, relating to campers, co-workers or facility, to your immediate supervisor. Create and administer lesson plans for all age groups. Participate in the planning and implementation of special events activities, campfires and evening programs. Strive to be a positive role model, at all times, throughout daily interactions with campers, parents, guests and co-workers. Step in and assume regular cabin duties as needed. Follow camp policies and procedures at all times while performing duties. Attend weekly staff meetings. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent; minimum of one year of college preferred. Experience with various forms of arts, dance and performance. Supervisory experience required. Previous residential camp experience preferred. Minimum of 21 years of age. Excellent communication skills.
Salary Information: $250.00 P/W
