We are located in northwestern New Jersey just outside the 70,000-acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, one of the last true wilderness areas in the northeastern United States. Job Description and Required Certifications: Position Summary: The Trading Post Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Trading Post, the Camp Mason camp store. The Trading Post sells snacks, clothing, and sundries to campers and staff over the course of the summer. The Trading Post Manager’s responsibilities include tracking inventory, recording camper and staff accounts, handling money, and organizing & selling goods. They are also responsible for ordering and purchasing, with assistance from the office staff. This position requires attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. The Administrative Assistant does not live in a cabin with campers. The position requires commitment to the YMCA’s Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Previous experience at a summer camp, another childcare setting, strong leadership and organizational skills, and a positive attitude will contribute to success in this position. The Trading Post Manager reports to the Camp Director. Requirements: • Age 18+. • Applicable college/professional experience in retail, childcare, or early childhood education. • Previous experience in summer camp or childcare settings. Responsibilities: • Run the Trading Post. • Clean and maintain the Trading Post. • Maintain and document inventory. • Coordinate with office staff regarding staff and camper accounts and inventory orders. • Be responsible for end-of-season Trading Post clean-up, inventory, and final report. • Supervise staff members assisting in the Trading Post. • Provide support for the camp director as needed. • Provide support to senior and village staff as needed. • Advise camp director on camper and staff morale. • Role model and reinforce good manners during meals. • Role model and reinforce good daily personal hygiene. • Be on time for all scheduled meetings, activities, meals, etc. • Other duties not addressed in this document but deemed necessary by the camp director.

Salary Information: Commensurate with experience, starting at $2,200.00
