Job Description and Required Certifications: Camp Grady Spruce YMCA, located on beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake approximately 120 miles west of Dallas, is searching for an experienced Resident Camp Director to ensure that programming and camp operations meet and exceed the need of our campers and program participants. This person will be responsible for the summer resident camp program for Camp Grady Spruce which is composed of three sites. As a member of the CGS leadership team, this person may be called upon to assist with Group & Family Camp and Outdoor Education programs, marketing and fund raising for the branch. He/she will be responsible for developing and implementing the plan for Camp Grady Spruce summer resident camp program and is responsible for all aspects of the summer camp operation. This includes, but is not limited to: staffing, programming, health and safety, marketing and business aspects of program. In addition, he/she will be responsible for developing and implementing a year-round teen program. This will include summer camp leadership training (LIT, CIT, JC, Leadership Y) and quarterly teen program meetings during the school year. He/she will also assist in other operations of camp as needed and will provide support to volunteers during the annual Partners Campaign and Golf Tournament. The incumbent must have experience in customer relations, be able to respond to requests in a timely manner, and have a sense of order and presentation. He/she must have organizational, interpersonal, managerial, decision making skills and must be willing and able to manage controversial situations; manage large number of programs, assignments and tasks simultaneously. Must be able to speak comfortably in front of large groups; handle difficult individuals, stressful situations and take the initiative necessary in dealing w/children and parents. Must have the ability to exercise discriminating and independent judgment and must be a detail oriented, self-starter who is able to establish and maintain harmonious relationships by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect and responsibility with staff, volunteers, YMCA members, program participants and the general public. The incumbent should be able to develop and monitor a multi-function budget and must be able to learn and manage YMCA financial software (Great Plains), Human Resource software (Kronos) and program registration software (Personify). Incumbent must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and able to operate all office equipment with proficiency and accuracy. The incumbent must obtain and maintain any required training and/or certification required for the position. Bachelor's degree preferred. Five years of experience in supervisory and administrative skills required.
