Job Description

The position of Executive Director of Mobile Community Health requires strong leadership and organizational skills; an understanding of programs, services and relationships needed to meet the needs of growing and diverse communities; and a commitment to using a broad array of traditional and modern communication channels to effectively present the values, priorities and work of the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth, established in 1890, consists of 10 branches, as well as out resident camp, YMCA Camp Carter and the YMCA Sports Complex and employs over 1200 staff all dedicated to building healthy confident, connected, and secure children, adults, families and communities.

For more than 135 years, the Fort Worth YMCA has worked to empower and strengthen the foundation of our community. Currently, we are seeking a Executive Director of Mobile Community Health who will need to build strong strategic relationships with current and prospective partners inside and outside the Y. As the Y looks to grow and expand the membership base, building bridges within the community to ensure all segments of society have access to the Y will be important. This leader will be the face of the community, which requires guiding others on how to strengthen knowledge, skills and competencies that improve organizational performance. Creating an environment of trust and respect by empowering others and sharing authority will be key to this leader's success.  

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Chief Program Officer, the Executive Director of Mobile Community Health oversees the overall operations of the Association's mobile community initiatives and programming, including Turkey Trot, mobile fitness programs, Healthy Living and chronic disease programs and MOTUS Fit Truck. This position will lead volunteer development, program branch board, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies, and budget. The Executive Director of Mobile Community Health supervises, develops and implements a full range of programming, services, partnerships, and community outreach to achieve strategic goals and provide outstanding service to all members, program participants, and partners.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) in YMCA related field or a minimum of 3 years Senior Management Experience.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

•Previous YMCA experience desired with 3+years of senior management experience.

•Should possess extensive management experience and be competent in membership and program development, staff selection and development, and facility operations.

•A successful background in financial development, recruitment and development of volunteer leadership, community involvement and strategic planning is required.

•Should possess skills in managing multiple priorities, communications and member relations, motivating staff and volunteers, supervision, staff selection, training, and evaluation.

•Must have the ability to develop positive relationships with YMCA members, program participants, school, County and City officials as well as community leaders.

•Must obtain and maintain all required trainings for this position.

•Must be a team player with a commitment to excellence.

Essential Functions

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

•Focus on driving connection, engagement and retention through specific goals for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease programs that show measurable outcomes and by engaging members in our evidence-based health initiatives, prevention programs and reclaiming health programs.

•Works collaboratively with branches across the association to provide ongoing leadership in the areas of healthy living, community health initiatives, YMCA Turkey Trot and Mobile fitness programs. 

•Supervise, develop and implement services related to the MOTUS Fit Truck.

•Works with diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure “For All” in our communities and staffing.

•Build and maintain strong partnerships among a wide variety of stakeholders (health systems, physicians, public health officials, employers, community-based organizations, and health seekers) to advance a common cause.

•Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.

•Serve as a collaborator for health care systems and medical providers to build/maintain partnerships and promote healthy living programs.

•Collaborate to promote healthy living case for support in annual campaigns, and other association wide events that promote the Y healthy living in the community.

•Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.

•Lead and develop association’s Community Health board committee.

•Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.

•Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.

•Leads, planning and execution of our YMCA’s Annual Turkey Trot race, a large-scale community event that happens on Thanksgiving Day. 

•Strategic expansion of our mobile YMCA programs designed to extend to serve underserved communities, partnering with other organization that creates long term impact for the communities we serve.

•Create financial stability for Mobile Community Health initiatives by achieving a balanced budget.

•Develop partnerships, donors, sponsors and other fundraising initiatives to secure additional funding and support for program expansion and sustainability. 

•Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates.

The yearly salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience.
