Job Description and Required Certifications: YMCA Camp Eberhart is seeking an experienced Water Programs Director (must be 21 or older). Qualifications: • Ability to schedule and supervise staff. • Desire and ability to work with children outdoors. • Current certification in first aid and CPR. Prior experience in the development and delivery of recreational programs. Experience: • Experience in a variety of program activities offered at the camp. • Experience in supervising others especially peers is preferred. Specific Responsibilities: • Plan, direct, and supervise a safe and fun waterfront program. o Develop lesson plans that meet camp goals o Evaluate aquatics abilities of campers and staff o Deliver creative swim and watercraft program activities • Train and supervise waterfront staff. o Assist in the planning and implementation of staff training. o Train waterfront and counseling staff in their waterfront responsibilities o Supervise waterfront staff to provide a safe and high-quality program o Supervise the waterfront staff evaluation process o Directly supervise other aquatic staff • Manage the physical facilities and equipment in the waterfront program area. o Set up waterfront area prior to and during staff training o Teach and monitor proper use of equipment o Conduct initial and end-of-season inventory, and store equipment for safety o Check equipment, and make (or file for) repairs. o Conduct a daily check of equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair o Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, ensuring timely arrival of materials • Participate as a member of the camp management team to plan, direct, and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions. • Participate in management and staff meetings. • Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning and leading those as assigned.

Salary Information: 10 week summer contract - $3000, room and board included
