Job Description and Required Certifications: Position Summary: Assist in the supervision and management of leadership staff in order to increase the efficiency, safety, cleanliness, and curriculum of the leadership division within the Leadership and Conferencing Department. Essential Functions: Assists in the supervision, training, scheduling, and evaluation of Leadership Staff. Substitutes for the Leadership and Conferencing Director when needed. Lead specialty weekend camps such as Memorial Day Family Camp, Women’s weekend, etc. Develop and Implement trainings for high course use under the guidance of the Conferencing and Leadership Director. Coordinates with the Conferencing and Leadership Director and Conferencing Retreat/Facility Coordinator to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the Leadership division including communicating any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up. Conducts and maintains accurate leadership records including: program registration forms, program stats and attendance rosters, and equipment. Assists in the development, implementation, and scheduling of leadership programs and classes. Assist in the creation, execution, and distribution of YMCA Camp Kern’s marketing materials, social marketing agenda, and distribution of program information. Ensures marketing materials comply with Y branding guidelines and uses Y Voice to effectively tell the YMCA story. Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and assists with special events. Knows and administers the appropriate EAP (emergency action plan) for any situation, including first aid or CPR, work-related employee injuries, etc. Completes incident and accident reports as required. Monitors and assists in the maintenance of a clean and sanitary program and leadership environment and meets all state and local licensing requirements. Inspects equipment within program and leadership areas for safety hazards, damage or wear. Communicates to Conferencing and Leadership Director any suggestions concerns or incidents that may need follow-up. Actively participates in and supports the goals of the Annual campaign through building relationships, engaging volunteers and carrying out other assigned fund raising duties. Provides excellent guest service and practices of the branch, including responding to inquiries/concerns in timely manner, being courteous and giving sincere attention to members, providing positive and regular feedback to program participants, knowing individual’s names and using their names when speaking to members. Upholds guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook of the Association. Attends designated meetings and trainings. Holds effective staff meetings. Carries out other duties as assigned by the Conferencing and Leadership Director or Management Staff. Qualifications: Education and Certifications High school diploma or GED required. 2-year college degree preferred Online New Employee Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, and Bloodborne Pathogens within 30 days of employment. Child Abuse Prevention and Bloodborne Pathogens to be refreshed every 12 months. CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen required within first 60 days of employment and kept current. Experience 1 year minimum of outdoor adventure, conferencing and/or customer service Must hold a valid driver’s license, insurable driver’s record according to the YMCA’s insurance carriers, and have reliable transportation to travel for business meetings, training events, YMCA site visits, vendors and suppliers, etc. Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with ability to learn the internal YMCA software.

Salary Information: $11.00 - $11.50 Hourly
