Camp Description: The New York YMCA Camp serves a diverse group of children composed mostly of New York City children in a globally diverse community built upon the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our goal is for each child to enjoy safe adventures, make new friends and have joyful experiences every day. The New York YMCA Camp is located on 1,100 forested acres 86 miles northeast of New York City where New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania share a border.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The YMCA of Greater New York is the largest youth-service organization in NYC. The organization has grown to encompass 21 branches and more than 140 sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City in addition to three camp sites and an upstate conference center. The New York YMCA Camp is seeking a qualified individual who will provide a safe and nurturing environment for campers and staff. The Healthcare Administrator is directly responsible for the health and wellness, care and needs of campers and staff around the clock during camp sessions. Responsibilities: Compile and interpret medical forms for all participants, and communicate information to necessary personnel. Dispense medications daily. Follow standing physician orders. Provide first aid treatment and determine when additional care is required. Maintain accurate records of all incidents, treatments and medications. Maintain health service supplies; ensure first aid kits and health center is stocked. Implement health care policies and procedures. Coordinate doctor visits for campers and staff, as needed. Keep parents informed about any incidents involving their child or children and keep the Director informed about incidents concerning staff members and/or campers. Help other departments as needed. Qualifications: AA Degree; Bachelors preferred. Registered EMT, LPN or RN. Current First Aid/CPR/BLS/NYS certifications. Good medical knowledge and the ability to apply knowledge. Excellent communication skills. Must be available to work and live on-site.
Salary Information: $600.00 P/W
