Job Description and Required Certifications: The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA, a $34.4 million charity, is seeking a proven, self-motivated, cause-driven professional to join our leadership team! The Tampa Bay area has been recognized as one of the top 20 best places to live for 2013. We have a great opportunity to join the staff at YMCA Camp Cristina, the largest summer camp in the state of Florida with 65 acres of pristine programming space. Having just completed a $1,500,000 renovation including a 7.5 acre lake, zip line, ropes courses, water crafts, paintball course, Wet Willie slide, 9-hole disc golf course and teaching kitchen. Camp Cristina is the perfect venue for youth development and fun! The Program Director II will be responsible for a budget of $750,000 and will manage a growing participant base in summer camp, holiday camps, outdoor education and youth/teen programming. Additional duties in the areas of corporate events and specialty camping round out this unique position. The successful candidate will have strong supervisory and programming experience including high ropes/challenge courses and will have the ability to establish and meet growth targets to advance the brand and mission of the Y. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Director II will work collaboratively with the leadership team of Camp Cristina and the Association camp cabinet to achieve the established goals and objectives of the Vision 2020 strategic plan. Leadership Brand: Tampa YMCA leaders embrace our charitable mission to care for and serve all people while guaranteeing excellence in programs, facilities, and relationships through an exceptional work ethic and strong management skills. A bachelors degree in a related field is preferred and 3-5 years of experience in youth programming, sports or aquatics desired. Must have excellent organization, decision making, communication and relationship building skills while thriving in a fast-paced environment. Preferred candidate will possess a CDL license or the willingness to acquire within 3 months of hire. Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background investigation are required.
