Camp Description: Located on Sandy Pond, Camp Wiyaka is a wonderful place for children ages 7 – 15 to spend a week (or two or five) exploring, discovering, and creating lasting friendships. There are over 60 acres of woods and fields and a 23 acre lake. Our staff season typically runs from late June to mid-August which includes a Staff Orientation week prior to camper’s arrival. Our resident camp can accommodate about 70 campers per week, and our daily schedule allows the children to participate in traditional camp offerings such as swimming, boating, doing arts and crafts, archery, playing sports and games, learning about nature, and more. Nightly sing-along campfires, family style meals, and platform tents have been a part of Camp Wiyaka tradition since 1921. Please see our website at for more information.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The Nurse at Camp Wiyaka is responsible for providing health care that will meet the individual needs of campers and staff. The Nurse will distribute medications, tend to minor injuries/illnesses, and organize/maintain medical files of campers and staff. The Nurse will be provided designated office and patient care space and must maintain a sanitary and safe environment for campers/staff. *This position could be held for the entire camp season or shared - Please inquire even if looking for part of the summer. Compensation of Nurse's child(ren) to camp program will be provided. Qualifications: - Minimum 21 years of age - Hold (or be willing to acquire) a New Hampshire RN, LPN, or ARNP level certification by the start of the camp season - Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications and experience in emergency management - Experience in both children and adult illness / injury care - Hold a valid Driver’s License - Desire to work with children and young adults - Willingness for follow directions and work as a team member - Strong leadership and organization skills - Willingness to as for assistance when needed or desired - Clean CORI / SORI, background check - Good health - Ability to interact with all age levels o Capability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner We do not serve “severe” special needs children. The average camper at Camp Wiyaka never even sees the nurse after check-in. Those that do see the nurse on a regular basis do so for routine medications. We are open to campers who have food allergies, if they have experience with maintaining their own health and safety (we do everything we can to ensure their safety, but expect the child to have some responsibility for their safety as well). We do have campers with ADD / ADHD, asthma, etc. – essentially common childhood concerns.

Salary Information: $500 - $550 per week based on experience and licensure
