Job Description and Required Certifications: Basic Assignment Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Program Director I- Group Services is responsible for year round programs, reserving groups, advance communication and scheduling with group leaders, hosting of guests while on site, and conducting an evaluation system for continued improvement of programs. Program Director I- Group Services provides programming for guests at Camp Marston and Raintree Ranch, both located in Julian, CA. Guests served include church retreats, conferences, girl scouts, family camps, YMCA parent child programs, and other civic, non-profit groups. Position also assumes a key leadership role in the summer youth program at Raintree Ranch and annual support campaign. This position requires living on site in provided housing at Raintree Ranch. Qualifications Minimum of 21 years of age. Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field required. Ability to demonstrate mature judgment and positive public relation skills Physical ability to stand, hike and climb for extended periods of time. Proven supervisory experience in hiring, training, evaluating, and motivating staff and volunteers as well as developing an effective staff team. Professional demeanor, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with the public, staff and volunteers. Proven fiscal management skills, knowledge of and expertise in camping programming. Valid CA Drivers License Good driving record Current CDL H6 print-out (must be dated within 30 days of application) Pass pre-employment drug testing Criminal record clearance Pass vehicle proficiency exam Current YMCA of American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (must crossover to YMCA in 6 months) Current CPR PRO/ AED Current First Aid Certification (must have First Aid for Public Safety Personnel with 6 months) Current O2 certification Must pass written and practical skills exam prior to duty Current lifeguard instructor certification or within 6 months of hire The physical ability to teach and lead camp activities Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures. Visual ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation. Major Functions Directly responsible for year round group revenue of $700,000 Facilitate year- round program areas including weekend groups. Assume direct responsibility year round for activity program areas ensuring that areas and necessary equipment are well run, safe and meet all applicable standards. Directly responsible for Raintree Ranch Summer Camp including supervision of 30 staff members, 90 campers and 40 horses to ensure the smooth day to day running of Raintree Ranch during summer camp program. Assist Summer Director in hiring staff, obtaining horse lease, equipment and supplies for the summer season. Schedule groups into available weeks or weekends to reach maximum occupancy possible. Work directly with group leaders in setting up program for the week or weekend. Confirm all schedules in writing. Maintain master group reservation system in camp office. Recruit and train staff to conduct programs. Schedule staff in advance for weekend programs as necessary. Work side by side with staff in day to day program operation. Create, promote, implement and be responsible for annual Family camps and Woodcutters weekends. Develop and implement other family based camps and volunteer weekends i.e.: Alumni Weekend, Women’s Wellness, Diabetes Family Camp, Community Service projects. Collect fees from groups where advance payment has not occurred. Complete accurate attendance statistics for records and billing. Assume the responsibility for compliance with the American Camp Association (ACA) standards year round. Assist other Director’s with ACA summer camp accreditation visits. Assume a key leadership role in the year round waterfront program operations: including facilities, equipment standards, and program implementation. Stay current on all YMCA Swimming Instruction and aquatics standards and become a current member of the aquatics cluster. Transport participants in YMCA vehicle to and from activities and appointments as needed. Practice non-aggressive defensive driving techniques Operate YMCA vehicles in safe manner Vehicle use is for YMCA business only

Salary Information: $3,208.34 - $3,500.00/Month; Full Time Exempt with benefits; Requires living on site
