Camp Description: Spend time outdoors and indoors as experienced staff lead adventures that promote a healthy spirit, mind and body. Going to a summer camp is not only a memory that your child will cherish forever, but it also has the potential to change their life. As our children today are surrounded by modern technology, spending time in the great outdoors can be an eye-opening and rewarding experience. Summer camp allows your child the opportunity to learn new skills, form wonderful relationships with their peers and learn more about themselves.

Job Description and Required Certifications: YMCA Camp Independence is a camp for children and adults with spina bifida. This is a summer seasonal position that will report directly to the Camp Director. Responsible for the overall organization and implementation of the YMCA Camp Independence resident camp program. Also responsible for aquatic operations at Camp Independence during the summer season. Scope of Responsibilities: Manages aquatic programs, complying with all Association standards and safety procedures. In addition, also responsible for hiring, training and supervising staff and volunteers for all aquatic programs. Develops, manages, and monitors aquatic department budgets. Assesses and recommends budgeting for facility and equipment needs. Also provides data and reports on assigned programs in support of the planning process of the branch and Association. Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign, and other volunteer committees as assigned. Develops, produces and disseminates appropriate program information in order to promote aquatic programs to the public and to current members. Ensures that program areas, equipment and supplies are maintained in an orderly and safe manner. Completes all other projects as assigned by the Executive Director. Support the interest of the Association as defined by the Director, President and Boards and the strategic plans of those entities.
Salary Information: $245-$260 per week
