Job Description and Required Certifications: DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: 6/13/13 8/17/13 PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: We are looking for dynamic personalities to become trip leaders for our adventure trip program. This program takes teen ages 11-15 on 3 day and 5 day wilderness camping trips. TRIPS: Cape Cod Biking, Adirondack White Water, Lake George Sailing, Hudson Valley Expedition (kayaking & rock climbing), MA Aerial Adventure (Canoeing & High Ropes), PA Pack & Paddle (Hiking & White Water Rafting), PA Bike & Hike. RESPONSIBILITIES: Trip Leaders will be responsible for leading and guiding counseling staff and campers during the trip. It is crucial that our trip leaders are able to make decisions regarding the safety of the group based on weather, trail, rock, or water conditions. Trip leaders must familiar themselves with the trip itinerary and be able to navigate to and from destinations. Effective communication is essential as trip leaders are responsible for continued communication with office staff at Camp Combe, monitoring the health and morale of the group, and safely facilitating all activities that take place during the trip. QUALIFICATIONS: -21+ -College student or grad preferred -Clean driving record -Previous work in summer camp setting -WFA or other first aid -Skills in any below are a plus: backpacking, mountain biking, canoe river travel, white water rafting, sailing, belaying and rock climbing, outdoor cooking.
Salary Information: $450-$500 a week. Weekends free and some weekday evenings, housing available, 1 hour by train to NYC, 15 mins to the Appalachian Trail.
