PROGRAM COORDINATOR- LAND Camp Name: Camp Punewood Camp Location: Twin Lake, MI Camp Description: Traditional but up-to-date, Camp Pinewood features 16 cabins on a private, spring-fed lake, with every activity from sailing to horseback riding. The camp is nestled in the heart of the Manistee National Forest near Muskegon, Michigan. Its convenient but remote enough to ensure that everyone enjoys the natural beauty of the camps 200-acre facility. Sponsoring YMCA: Camp Pinewood YMCA YMCA Location: Twin Lake, MI Job Description and Required Certifications: Camp Pinewood is a diverse co-ed summer resident camp program located in Western Michigan and serving campers aged 5-17 primarily from the Chicago area. Staff are required to attend all pre-camp trainings and commit to the entirety of camp season June-August. Additional employment opportunities are available before and after these dates. S ummary Program Coordinator works closely together with Full-time staff to oversee all aspects of the resident camp program. The Program Coordinator will ensure the general health and safety of seasonal staff and campers. Is the Team Leader of the Program Coordinator staff and their respective areas and will lead the Unit specialists staff to oversee all aspects of the campers experience at resident camp. Responsibilities: Coordinates the operation of summer resident camp Assists in staff training; Supervises staff and volunteers. Schedules staff to ensure coverage of all cabins and activities. Maintains cleanliness and safety of campers, staff, facilities and equipment. Maintains YMCA, ACA, and State standards and ensures compliance with requirements. Complies with the accidents, incidents, and abuse reporting and policies. Use strategic positive enforcement of all policies and procedures of resident in occoridances with YMCA, ACA, & State policies. Develops and facilitates special events and activities. Provide campers with a positive and wholesome role model. Provide regular verbal and written feedback to staff and campers. Requirements: High School graduate and at least 21 years of age. Two years of college preferred. Experience in camping and youth programming. Good moral judgment. Obtain prior to and hold valid certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED throughout employment term. Supervisory experience preferred. Clean driving record and willingness to learn how to drive 14 passenger mini bus preferred We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
