Camp Description: The New York YMCA Camp serves a diverse group of children composed mostly of New York City children in a globally diverse community built upon the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our goal is for each child to enjoy safe adventures, make new friends and have joyful experiences every day. Come join our camp family for one of the most challenging, fun and rewarding summers of your life. The New York YMCA Camp is located on 1,100 forested acres 86 miles northeast of New York City where New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania share a border.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The NY YMCA Camp is seeking a self motivated and organized individual who will be primarily responsible for the supervision of the designated swimming area. Responsibilities include maintaining and improving the quality of program delivered, and the involvement and retention of participants. RESPONSIBILITIES: Train and monitor aquatics staff ensuring they are following and enforcing all rules and policies Provide a safe environment for all program participants. Participate and provide leadership to the total camp program. Step in and assume regular cabin duties as needed. Adhere to New York State Health Department codes and guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum age of 21 years old, with one to three years of direct aquatics instruction and supervision of children, preferably in a residential camp setting. Must have or be able to obtain, Current First Aid/CPR and YMCA Swim instructor certifications. Must have, or be able to obtain, YMCA Lifeguard certification.
