Camp Description: Camp Wa Wa Segowea is embarking on the next chapter in its 100 year history, as the Northwestern CT YMCA takes over the operation of this historic program. Utilizing its setting on nearly 500 acres of scenic property, including a 30-acre private lake, we look forward to providing an exceptional camping experience. Camp Wa Wa Segowea values the development of every child in Spirit, Mind, & Body; we incorporate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in everything we do. Job Description and Required Certifications: JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides a safe and quality camp healthcare experiences for all, by directing the general operation of the health center. Provides a quality camp healthcare experience to children, staff, and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring, consistent with the YMCA Mission and the YMCA Cause. JOB QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS: 1. At least 21 years of age. 2. Commonwealth of Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure 3. Ability to originate, update and/or monitor healthcare, maintain records, and implement health care plans. 4. Two years or more of nursing experience in a related field such as, emergency or camp nursing. 5. Valid Drivers License 6. One year of pediatric experience in some discipline, such as being a parent, pediatrics office, school nursing, or emergency room nursing 7. Ability to and willingness to obtain American Safety & Health Institute BLS & First Aid Instructor certification, this is a preferred qualification. 8. Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Emergency Oxygen, & First Aid Certifications. 9. Previous experience with supervising and leading staff in a summer camp setting. 10. Previous experience working with diverse populations.
