Camp Description: YMCA Camp Shady Brook is located 90 minutes Southwest of Denver on the South Platte River, nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains at 6800 feet in elevation. We have an amazing summer staff of 50 talented people from all over the world to bring approximately 150 campers to camp for 10 different weeks each summer. We believe strongly in our mission and are highly selective in our staff hiring. We create a world for children as it is supposted to be: a safe, fun community of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, specializing in giving children a memorable summer experience that will help shape the rest of their lives.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The successful Assistant Wrangler will be an organized responsible individual with significant stable management experience. The candidate will be assist the Head Wrangler in the care of 12-15 head of horses and equipment. The Assistant Wrangler will help implement curriculum for 1 week long western riding programs for beginners to advanced riders as laid out by the head wrangler. MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES: Required: Must be at least 20 years of age with at least 3 years riding and 1 year stable management experience CPR & First Aid Certifications Previous stable management experience High School Diploma required Minimum of three months of full time or equivalent part time satisfactory and verifiable experience with school age children, and/or family programming. Preferred: Six months of satisfactory and verifiable experience with school age children, and/or family programming. Previous overnight camping experience 1 year teaching experience 5 years riding experience and 2 years of stable management experience CHA or other equivalent certification KEY FOCUS AREAS: Safety/Risk Management Child/Youth Development Program Implementation
Salary Information: Summer seasonal position for 10.5 weeks - $2,268 - $2,394/season
