Camp Description: YMCA Camp Shady Brook is located 90 minutes Southwest of Denver on the South Platte River, nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains at 6800 feet in elevation. We have an amazing summer staff of 50 talented people from all over the world to bring approximately 150 campers to camp for 10 different weeks each summer. We believe strongly in our mission and are highly selective in our staff hiring. We create a world for children as it is supposted to be: a safe, fun community of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, specializing in giving children a memorable summer experience that will help shape the rest of their lives.

YMCA Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Job Description and Required Certifications: This is a leadership position. Applicants are responsible for directly supervising 15-18 counselors, running Unit activities, assisting with camper behavioral problems, and ensuring staff compliance with all camp rules. Applicants must have previous camp/childcare experience and should be comfortable wearing many hats and working well in a fast paced environment where change happens daily. MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES: Required: Must be 21 years of age or older or two years of previous camp experience. CPR & First Aid Certifications Experience coordinating and leading age-appropriate camp activities and events. High School Diploma required Minimum of six months of full time or equivalent part time satisfactory and verifiable experience with school age children, and/or family programming. Preferred: Twelve Months of satisfactory and verifiable experience with school age children, and/or family programming. Three years previous overnight camping experience One year of supervisory experience Two years of college completed KEY FOCUS AREAS: Safety/Risk Management Child/Youth Development Program Design and Implementation Staff Supervision
Salary Information: Summer Seasonal position for 11 weeks - $2,508-$2,706/season
