Camp Description: The Sioux YMCA Day Program is a drop-in/day camp program for kids ages 5-13. The program is located in Dupree at the Sioux YMCA's main office.

Job Description and Required Certifications: The Sioux YMCA is looking to redesign our summer program to resemble a day-camp structure. Our program must meet the needs of school age children ages 5 to 13 from our surrounding reservation communities and runs Monday through Friday for a minimum of 9 weeks during the summer months. We are seeking an organized, creative and self-driven individual to assist with this program development. This position involves problem solving, leadership, public relations, customer service, imagination and a lot of enthusiasm. This is an amazing opportunity for individuals seeking additional leadership, managerial and inter-cultural communication experience. The Summer Program Supervisor is responsible for the overall structure of the day program, i.e. activities, staff scheduling, office management, etc. This includes: • Setting up training in coordination with Executive Director for summer on-site staff. • Supervising all day program staff and volunteers. • Coordinating with the Executive Director, Camp Director/Community Development Director, book keeper, and staff members to ensure that all aspects of the summer program are safe, fun and effective. • Organizing and scheduling weekly program sessions and activities. • Plans program goals and monitors day program progress. • Acts as principal contact for Dupree-site operations. • Offers support, encouragement and enthusiasm to staff members as well as program participants. • Assists the Executive Director with daily operations such as answering the phone, assisting Y members and responding to community members’ questions and concerns. The applicant must have strong leadership skills and exceptional communication ability in order to support his/her team. Applicant must be dependable, organized and enthusiastic. Good “customer relation” skills and patience are a must in order to build positive relationships with donors, parents, Board Members and, of course, staff. Applicant must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license. Applicant must be at least first aid and CPR certified, or willing to become certified before position start date. Experience with after-school programs, childcare programs and/or summer camps are preferred.

Salary Information: $225/week
