Camp Description: Join the team of the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City as Camping Coordinator for YMCA Camp Classen, our year-round camp focused on providing experiences that shape a life and create memories and friendships that last a life time. YMCA Camp Classen is located midway between Oklahoma City and Dallas on 2,140 acres in the Arbuckle mountains with waterfalls, lakes, open meadows, and miles of hiking and horseback trails. Through our traditional summer resident camp program, our Outdoor Education program, two weekend family camps and many weekend Adventure Guide groups we will serve over 8,000 individuals this year.

Job Description and Required Certifications: JOB TITLE: Camping Coordinator REPORTS TO: Director of Camping FSLA TYPE: Exempt, Salaried GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Director of Camping, the Camping Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the supervision and implementation for the Summer Camp, Outdoor School and Conference Camp programs and operations. In addition, the incumbent plays a significant role in Summer Camp promotion, staff recruitment and assists in the development of programs and budgets. KNOW HOW: The person filling this position should 3-5 years experience in residence camping programs and operations or college level training in these or related areas. He/she must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with people on all levels and supervise seasonal staff members. He/she must be able to exercise discretion and make independent judgments. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: Must be Red Cross PR/CPR, AED, O2, First Aid certified or willing to get certified. Assist in planning and executing camp programs and goals. Assist with the promotion of the Summer Camp Programs. Assists with the development and management of the Outdoor School, Summer Camp and Conference Camp budgets. Assist in the hiring, training and supervising of Outdoor School, Summer Camp and Conference Camp staff positions. Assist in providing the delivery of programs to outdoor school, summer and conference campers. Assists with the stewardship of camps natural resources, facilities, equipment and programs. Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers. Assist in Coordinating schedules and curriculum for outdoor school groups.
Salary Information: $24,000 annually
