CAMP NURSE Camp Name: Ruth Lilly YMCA Outdoor Center (Flat Rock) Camp Location: St. Paul, IN Camp Description: Resident Camp Sponsoring YMCA: YMCA of Greater Indianapolis YMCA Location: Indianapolis, IN Job Description and Required Certifications: Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Camp Nurse will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of health care needs of all campers and staff. The Nurse is to lead and motivate the camp staff to provide a safe camp program, which fosters the childrens social, spiritual, physical, and intellectual growth. Must be at least 21 years old and have completed educational requirements for a Registered Nurse, LPN, Physicians Assistant, Paramedic or EMT recognized by the state of Indiana. Must have the ability to work as a team member and coordinate with other directors in contributing to the goals of the program and the willingness to model and use age-appropriate discipline techniques according to YMCA guidelines for behavior management. Must have the ability to take and give direction, communicate effectively with children, parents, Program Director, and other staff and be able to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children, family and YMCA staff. Must have, or the ability to obtain, CPR and First Aid certifications, Child Abuse Prevention training, Safety & Risk Management, New Employee Orientation training and other required day camping training prior to the start of camp or no later than 30 days (with approval) after camp begins. Emotional maturity, flexibility, problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
