SKY Y CAMP COUNSELOR Camp Name: YMCA of Snohomish County Camp Location: Everett, WA Camp Description: Mill Creek Family YMCA - Sky Y Day Camp Sponsoring YMCA: YMCA of Snohomish County YMCA Location: Everett, WA Job Description and Required Certifications: Primary Duties Provide direct supervision in a seasonal outdoor day camp program. Provide a quality experience to children and parents that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Provide safe supervision of a group of children Plan and implement program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA core values Adhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards Attend staff meetings and trainings Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies Maintain positive relations with parents and other staff Completion of YMCA specific training/certifications as directed Qualifications Minimum age 18 Previous experience working with children preferably in a camp setting Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc First Aid, CPRPRO, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions Physical Demands: Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
