YMCA OF THE USA ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Jim Mellor Brings Local YMCA Expertise to National Office
CHICAGO, Nov. 14, 2006—YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), the national resource office for America’s 2,617 YMCAs , today announced the hiring of Jim Mellor as Chief Financial Officer,.Mr. Mellor, of Roswell, Ga., joins Y-USA from the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, one of the largest and fastest-growing YMCA associations, where he served for more than 10 years as Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer.

His extensive financial experience and knowledge of YMCA operations make him a valuable resource for the entire YMCA movement.”
Before joining the Atlanta YMCA, Mr. Mellor held financial leadership positions at Price Waterhouse, Chatham Properties, Brown & Root and Caterpillar Corporation—all of which have annual revenue in excess of $1 billion.
A strong believer in community service, Mr. Mellor is a member of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Foundation and an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Rotary International and other organizations that provide housing in developing countries. He has participated in housing projects in Belize, Honduras, Haiti and Jamaica.
Mr. Mellor earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Bob Jones University (Greenville, S.C.) and has done graduate work at the University of South Carolina. He also has completed executive training programs at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and Texas A&M University. He and his wife, Jane, who have two grown children, plan to make their home in the Chicagoland area.
